Falafel Dog

2 English Oven Hotdog Roll Breads
1 cup Chickpeas, boiled
1 Onion, finely chopped
3-4 cloves of Garlic, minced
4-5 tbsp Fresh Coriander, chopped
2-3 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
½ tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
½ tsp Fresh Pepper Powder
½ tsp Paprika powder
1 tbsp Sesame seeds
4 tbsp Hummus*
Olive Oil for Pan Frying


Mash the boiled chickpeas well. Add all the spices and the onions, coriander and parsley. Mash it all well together, you can use a food processor but avoid pureeing. Leave the mix open to dry off for an hour or so. Heat oil in a pan and form balls of the chickpea paste and roll lightly on sesame seeds. Fry the falafel balls in the pan, till lightly brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
To assemble the hotdog, spread hummus in the lower slice of the hot dog, place falafel over it and close. Serve with olive and gherkins.
